The new 24,000 square meter facility is the third and largest cold storage warehouse in the joint network of Medlog and CMLOG. It complements two existing sites near major ports in Tianjin and Ningbo. This expansion aligns with Medlog's strategy to develop its cold storage infrastructure along China's coast, facilitating the growth of cross-border cold chain import trade.

Situated in the Lingang area within Shanghai's Special Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the facility is engineered to boost cold chain logistics capacity and address global demand for fresh produce. It features smart refrigeration technology, aiming for highly standardized and automated operations.
With a total storage capacity of approximately 80,000 tons, the cold storage warehouse efficiently links domestic storage with international transportation.
Giuseppe Prudente, Chairman of Medlog, stated that this investment strengthens the company's cold chain network in China and enhances its ability to serve domestic and international clients. The partnership with CMLOG allows for the provision of integrated cross-border cold chain solutions, improving efficiency, reliability, and compliance across the logistics process.
Leveraging Medlog's international operational capabilities and MSC's global transport network, the facility aims to offer comprehensive cold chain services. These services encompass international transportation, customs clearance, and temperature-controlled storage, optimizing both time and cost.
This project is expected to bolster the development of China's cold chain logistics system and boost imports of fresh, perishable goods in the near future.
