Over 123,000 m2 for Vietnam international defense expo 2026

The Vietnam international defense expo 2026 is expected to take place from 10 to 13/12 at Gia Lam airport (Hanoi), covering about 123,800 m2 with various exhibition, experience, and specialized networking spaces.

According to the Ministry of National Defense's plan, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2026 will feature the theme "Peace, friendship, cooperation for development". The event follows the two previous expos in 2022 and 2024, and is one of Vietnam's large-scale national defense foreign affairs activities.

The exhibition is designed across approximately 123,800 m2, featuring multiple functional zones. The outdoor display area, spanning about 24,700 m2, will showcase large-scale military equipment and vehicles from Vietnam and international partners. The indoor exhibition area, covering about 23,500 m2, is designed to present advanced defense products and technologies.

The organizing committee also plans to establish a defense experience zone, an economic-defense product introduction area, and a three-region cultural zone to enhance visitor interaction. Technical demonstrations, military music performances, martial arts displays, and defense simulation technology experiences are currently under development.

Alongside the exhibition areas, the event's supporting infrastructure is being finalized. Registration, security checkpoints, VIP reception areas, parking lots, a press center, logistics zones, and specialized conference spaces are planned to ensure smooth operations throughout the event.

To prepare for the expo, relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry, along with other units, are undertaking various tasks. These include: developing organizational plans, designing exhibition layouts, creating identity systems, and boosting communication and promotion activities.

Previously, on 29/4, the General Department of Defense Industry held a conference to promote the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2026. The event aimed to introduce information about the expo and encourage businesses to provide support and sponsorship, thereby mobilizing additional social resources for the event's activities.

The Vietnam International Defense Expo was first held in 2022 and continued in 2024, attracting interest from many nations, defense businesses, and visitors. The 2026 expo is expected to expand international defense cooperation and promote the development of a modern, dual-use defense industry.
