Tomasz Parzybut, President of the Polish Meat Processors Association, shared this information at a recent "Taste Europe" campaign event in TP HCM. He noted that Polish businesses are looking to increase their procurement of agricultural and food products from Vietnam.
Specifically, one of Poland's leading beef producers is collaborating with a partner in TP HCM to explore shrimp supplies for a burger concept. Another company dedicated a day to researching pepper import opportunities from Vietnam.
According to data from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports of agricultural and food products—including seafood, coffee, tea, and pepper—to Poland reached nearly 138 million USD in the first half of 2026. This represents a 4,3% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Notably, seafood and pepper exports both saw a 43% rise, reaching over 21 million USD and 10 million USD respectively.
Piotr Harasimowicz, Head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), a division of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland, at its representative office in TP HCM, stated that Poland primarily imports products such as: rice, coffee, noodles, coconut, and seafood from Vietnamese businesses. He emphasized that the economic cooperation potential in this sector remains largely untapped.
Polish agricultural and food products are also increasingly entering the Vietnamese market. In the first half of 2026, Vietnam imported nearly 36,7 million USD worth of seafood, milk, and dairy products from Poland, marking a 73,5% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
This growth was primarily driven by milk and dairy products, with turnover more than doubling by 122,6%. Polish frozen pork exports to Vietnam increased by 34% in 2025, according to Tomasz. Pork and apples are also gaining popularity among Vietnamese consumers.
Meanwhile, Bożena Wroblewska, Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Promotion Agency at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, reported that approximately 1.500 tons of Polish apples entered Vietnamese supermarkets in 2025. "We expect production to continue growing this year", she added. Poland is currently the largest apple producer in the EU.
In 2025, the value of Polish agricultural and food product exports to Vietnam reached nearly 230 million euro. Live animals and animal products accounted for over 201 million euro of this total, according to the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS).
Andrzej Arendarski, President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, identified Southeast Asia as a strategic growth market. Vietnam, in particular, stands out due to its rapidly developing economy and long-standing business relations with Poland.
