Sabeco leads green business assessment program

Sabeco leads businesses participating in the "Green Business - Net Zero in Action 2026" program by integrating ESG into its operations, generating results across its entire value chain.

At the "World Energy and Environment - Vietnam 2026" Forum held on 8/7, Sabeco ranked Top 1 in the "Green Business - Net Zero in Action 2026" assessment program. This recognition was awarded based on nominations from localities, evaluated against the criteria and assessment tools of the World Energy Council in Vietnam (WEC-VN), and further validated by an independent expert council.

The forum took place as Vietnam is progressively finalizing its policy framework to accelerate the green transition and move towards its net zero emissions target.

Larry Lee, Sabeco’s vice president of strategic assets and sustainable development, stated that the company has implemented improvements in energy utilization, enhanced water efficiency, optimized packaging and logistics, upgraded supplier standards, and focused on human development.

"We operate at a scale where every company decision creates significant impacts. Therefore, all Sabeco's operations are refined to generate a positive impact across the entire ecosystem," Mr. Lee said.

A highlight of the group's strategy is the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives into all production and business activities, rather than implementing them as isolated projects. From energy use and water management to packaging optimization, supply chain development, and human resources, the company establishes monitoring indicators to ensure measurable efficiency year over year.

These efforts are reflected in several operational metrics. In 2025, renewable energy accounted for 46.4% of Sabeco's total energy consumption, and all factories implemented CO2 recovery systems to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions. The company also reduced its water intensity by 7% compared to 2023, achieving a 100% rate of recyclable or reusable packaging and recovering or recycling 81.4% of its waste.

Within the supply chain, 100% of Sabeco's partners are committed to adhering to the company's code of conduct, helping to disseminate responsible business standards throughout the entire ecosystem.

According to the company representative, transparent governance is a core factor enabling Sabeco to maintain effective green transformation. The company has established a system to track ESG indicators, evaluating progress, managing impacts, and continuously improving operational efficiency.

Annually, Sabeco publishes its Sustainability Report in accordance with GRI Standards 2021, aligning it with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This regular disclosure helps the company to be transparent about its commitments, share progress with stakeholders, and increasingly meet international standards for ESG information disclosure.

Concurrently, the company maintains regular dialogue with employees, customers, partners, investors, and consumers to stay updated on key issues, thereby continuing to refine its sustainable development strategy.

At the event, Mr. Lee also stated that transparent governance forms the foundation for Sabeco's long-term operational transformation.

"Sustainable development is not a destination, but a journey created together. Sabeco remains committed to the spirit of moving forward shoulder-to-shoulder with Vietnam, accompanying its people, community, environment, and future," Mr. Lee affirmed.

As requirements for emissions, clean energy, and ESG transparency increasingly become important criteria in global supply chains, being ranked a leader in the "Green Business – Net Zero in Action 2026" program not only acknowledges Sabeco's achievements but also highlights the company's competitive advantage in its green transition journey towards sustainable growth.

The "World Energy and Environment – Vietnam 2026" Forum was sponsored by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in coordination with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) and the World Energy Council in Vietnam (WEC-VN), along with other partners. The forum gathered representatives from management agencies, experts, international organizations, and the business community to discuss energy transition, ESG, and solutions for achieving net zero targets.

Within the framework of the program, "Green Business – Net Zero in Action 2026" is an activity that assesses, selects, and honors businesses demonstrating specific models, initiatives, and results in green transformation. Businesses are evaluated based on a set of assessment criteria, combined with validation by an expert council.
