As of 19/8, numerous securities companies have released their reviewed 6-month financial reports. Several firms disclosed the income of their senior executives, with chief executive officers (CEOs) typically receiving the highest salaries and bonuses.
Trinh Hoai Giang, CEO of HSC Securities, was the highest-earning executive among companies that have disclosed figures. In the first half of the year, HSC paid its CEO 4,8 billion VND in salary and bonuses, similar to last year. His average monthly income was approximately 800 million VND.
Born in 1969, Trinh Hoai Giang has served as HSC's CEO since 2020. Before that, he spent 13 years as Deputy General Director in charge of investment and operations at the same securities company.
Before joining HSC, Giang worked at Dragon Capital and Vietcombank. According to the 2026 semi-annual corporate governance report, as of 30/6, he owned 6 million HCM shares, representing 0,56% of HSC's capital.
The second highest-earning CEO among securities companies was Ton Minh Phuong, head of Vietcap's Executive Board. According to the semi-annual financial report, her total salary and other benefits amounted to 3,36 billion VND. This averages to 560 million VND per month, nearly 2,4 times higher than the same period last year.
Other Vietcap board members, including Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phuong and Dinh Quang Hoang, To Hai, did not receive remuneration. In total, Vietcap spent 10,3 billion VND on salaries and bonuses for its key personnel, double last year's figure.
Vietcap's CEO, born in 1983, holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Technology, Sydney (Australia). Phuong has over 18 years of experience in investment banking and joined Vietcap in 2011.
Following Ton Minh Phuong in income was Nham Ha Hai, CEO of VPBank Securities (VPBankS). In the first half of the year, his total salary and bonuses were 3,2 billion VND, averaging 533 million VND per month. This figure, however, was lower than the 5,2 billion VND received by former CEO Vu Huu Dien during the same period last year.
Born in 1977, Nham Ha Hai holds a Master of Finance degree and has served as VPBankS CEO from 12/2025 to present. He has over 20 years of experience in finance and banking, having held senior positions at An Binh Securities (ABS), Techcombank, Techcom Securities (TCBS), and Techcom Capital.

VPS, the leading company in securities brokerage market share, paid its CEO Le Minh Tai 1,44 billion VND in salary and bonuses for the first half of the year, equivalent to 240 million VND per month. Along with VPS, Vietcap, HSC, and VPBankS are also among the top 10 firms in the market's brokerage share.
However, billion-VND incomes are not exclusive to companies with large brokerage market shares in the top 10. SHS Securities paid its CEO Nguyen Duy Linh, who assumed the position just over 5 months ago, 2,8 billion VND in salary and bonuses. At this rate, Linh received an average of approximately half a billion VND per month.
At OCB Securities (OCBS), CEO Nguyen Duc Quan Tung received 2,93 billion VND in the first half of the year, equivalent to nearly 490 million VND per month. Additionally, Truong Ngoc Lan, CEO of VIX Securities, had an income of 1,16 billion VND, a 21% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Many securities companies provided high salaries and bonuses to their senior executives amidst continued business growth, despite a volatile market in the first half of the year. Statistics show that in the first half of the year, the industry's total pre-tax profit reached approximately 24.800 billion VND, an improvement of 37% over the same period last year. The lending segment was the main driver, generating 23.452 billion VND in revenue, 1,6 times higher than the same period last year.
