SK: investing in core configurations for long-term value

Amidst an increasingly diverse air conditioner market in terms of technology and models, SK focuses on core configurations to achieve long-term usage value.

SK representatives will reiterate this strategic direction at the "SK Essence - Summer Gala as Desired" event in Hanoi on 23/4. The company prioritizes operational durability and stable performance during product development, with hardware serving as the foundation for a long-lasting user experience.

"Our development is based on practical configurations, allocating resources to both component systems and core technical aspects of operational performance. This approach ensures stability during use, optimizes product lifecycle, and meets demands for sustainable usage," stated an SK representative.

The company's core configuration investments include:

GMCC compressor: The heart of long-term strategy

The compressor is a crucial component, directly impacting system performance and durability. In certain products, SK integrates high-end GMCC compressors to ensure stable operation.

Rather than reducing materials or "overloading" for short-term spec advantages, SK ensures its units operate at their rated capacity. This prevents power loss during high outdoor temperatures and reduces the risk of failures over time. Economically, an air conditioner's true value comes from its total cost of ownership, not just its initial purchase price.

Golden Fin protective coating

The Golden Fin heat exchanger is a feature enhancing equipment durability in tropical monsoon climates, particularly coastal areas with high humidity and salt spray. On SK's outdoor units, this coating acts as "armor", protecting the heat exchange surface from oxidation, electrochemical corrosion, and dust accumulation.

According to the manufacturer's representative, combining the Golden Fin coating with a stable material structure can maintain heat dissipation efficiency, supporting stable equipment operation over time. Photo: SK

Blue Fin: The indoor unit's defense line

Acting as a protective shield for the indoor unit, the Blue Fin coating's hydrophobic properties allow condensed moisture to drain quickly, repelling mold and bacteria growth. This dryness helps maintain fresh cooling airflow, accelerates heat exchange, and enables deeper cooling.

SK incorporates a dual protection mechanism: Golden Fin for outdoor units and Blue Fin for indoor units, addressing real-world operating conditions. "We are committed to delivering durable machines from the core," an SK representative stated.

15 W fan for powerful airflow

The fan system significantly impacts real-world operation. SK equips its units with 15 W fans, capable of powerful airflow diffusion. This ensures cold air spreads farther and quickly brings the space to the set temperature. Rapid room cooling immediately reduces the load on the compressor system.

"A hardware system that intelligently 'shares the load' is key to increasing overall lifespan," an SK representative explained.

Equipment weight reflects investment in configuration. Outdoor units are heavier due to standard copper and aluminum materials, which improve heat dissipation. Indoor units feature a sturdy structure to limit vibration and reduce operational noise.

Through the "SK Essence - Summer Gala as Desired" event, SK aims to reposition its brand in customers' minds by emphasizing configuration, quality, and operational efficiency. This strategy addresses the demand for stable, long-term use.
