Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch flights to 7 international markets

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is implementing its "Rise to Asia" strategy, opening 9 routes to 7 key Asian markets while establishing an international general sales agent (GSA) network.

According to the plan, the airline, part of Sun Group, will operate 9 routes to 7 markets: Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong (China), India, and Malaysia. The first international flight on the Phu Quoc - Taipei (Taiwan, China) route is scheduled to depart on 29/3.

The decision to expand the flight network comes amid rising international tourism demand for Phu Quoc. Data from Phu Quoc International Airport and tourism entities indicates that in the first two months of 2026, the island recorded over 428.000 international visitors, an increase of approximately 35% compared to the same period. Some markets saw strong growth, such as China at over 40%, and India experiencing a significant rise due to new routes.

Alongside route development, the airline is implementing an international distribution system through partnerships with general sales agents (GSA) in various markets. The announced partners include: Tamgp in Thailand, Discover the World in Singapore, and OpenSky in Hong Kong (China).

A representative of the airline stated that these entities possess distribution experience, local market understanding, and extensive operational networks. Specifically, Discover the World operates in over 60 countries, while OpenSky utilizes technology for ticket distribution in the Asia-Pacific region.

Establishing the agency system is identified as one of the pillars in the international expansion phase, helping the airline increase customer reach and optimize sales channels.

Building on this foundation, the airline is implementing commercial policies to support agents in developing package products. During the DIFF 2026 (Da Nang International Fireworks Festival) season, passengers traveling to Da Nang can access offers such as: Early Bird tickets (advance purchase), Ba Na Hills experience packages, and discounts when combining flight products.

For international visitors to Phu Quoc, the airline offers a policy of complimentary Sun World Hon Thom tickets, along with special offers for accommodation, entertainment, golf, and dining services under the program "One Ticket, A Million Joys".

The simultaneous implementation of the flight network, distribution system, and commercial policies demonstrates the airline's expansion direction within its "Rise to Asia" strategy, aiming to enhance Phu Quoc's connectivity with Asian markets.
