Techcombank life changes shareholder structure

Following approval from the Ministry of Finance, Techcom Life welcomes One Mount Group as a strategic shareholder with a 10% stake, while Techcombank continues to hold 80%.

Techcom Life announced the change on 22/7. The 10% stake previously held by Vingroup was transferred to One Mount Group. Following this transaction, Techcombank retains an 80% stake, One Mount Group holds 10%, and other shareholders collectively own the remaining 10%.

Vingroup stated that the move is part of its portfolio restructuring efforts, allowing it to focus resources on core business areas. Vingroup also indicated it would continue to explore opportunities with Techcom Life to deliver enhanced solutions and value to customers.

A Techcom Life representative clarified that this change is part of a broader plan to strengthen the company's foundation for its next growth phase. They emphasized that the shift in minority shareholders will not impact business operations, development strategy, or commitments to customers and partners.

Techcom Life anticipates that One Mount Group's involvement will enhance its technology and data capabilities. This support is expected to drive the company's AI-first strategy by developing robust technology infrastructure, data platforms, and advanced analytical tools. Ultimately, Techcom Life aims to simplify insurance processes, boost operational efficiency, and deliver personalized experiences for Vietnamese customers.

Concurrently with the shareholder restructuring, the Board of Directors of Vietnam Technological Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) approved a resolution to invest an additional 2,400 billion VND into Techcom Life. Upon completing regulatory procedures, Techcom Life's charter capital is projected to increase to 4,300 billion VND. This capital injection will fund technology investments, product innovation, and the expansion of modern distribution channels.

In less than a year since its establishment, Techcom Life has successfully built its systems, developed distribution channels, and achieved positive business results. Data from the Insurance Association of Vietnam shows the company consistently ranked among the top 5 life insurance companies by new business premium revenue in the first five months of 2026, also leading the bancassurance channel. Furthermore, its customer satisfaction index stands at 4,9/5, and its Net Promoter Score (NPS) is 89, placing it among industry leaders.

In the first half of the year, Techcom Life garnered four international awards recognizing its products, technology, and digital transformation efforts. At The Asian Banker Vietnam Awards, the company was honored as the Best Life Insurance Product Vietnam and for Best Life Insurance Technology Vietnam. Techcom Life also received two awards at the Insurance Asia Awards 2026 for digital transformation and as an Outstanding Life Insurer in Vietnam.

Mukesh Pilania, General Director of Techcom Life, stated that Techcombank's capital increase and One Mount Group's involvement as a strategic shareholder will significantly bolster the company's financial foundation and technological capabilities.

"This is an opportunity for us to accelerate innovation, promote an AI-first strategy, and provide simpler, more personalized insurance experiences for the needs of Vietnamese people, thereby realizing the vision of 'Reinventing the Insurance Industry - Empowering Future Autonomy' and building a new-generation life insurance company in Vietnam," a Techcom Life representative shared.
