US imposes 35% import tariff on Canada

On 10/7, US president Donald Trump announced a new tariff on Canadian goods via Truth Social.

Starting 1/8, Canadian exports to the US will face a 35% tariff.

Canada is the US's second-largest trading partner after Mexico, and its biggest export market. Last year, Canada purchased $349 billion worth of US goods and exported $412 billion to the US, according to US officials.
