This initiative allows users to exchange their old devices for new ones by paying an additional fee, a popular method to stimulate purchasing. "The Vertu trade-in program is an experience upgrade, targeting users who wish to transition from common phone models to devices offering higher personalization, enhanced security, and a dedicated service ecosystem," a representative stated.

Under the new policy, owners of Apple, Samsung phones, and other select models (on the trade-in list) can bring their devices to one of the four Vertu stores in Sai Gon ward, TP HCM, for appraisal or request support at a designated address. After the old device is inspected according to system criteria, customers will be advised on a suitable Vertu model, the subsidy amount from the distributor, and the remaining payment after deducting the old device's value, the company representative explained.
The company also specified the applicable formula: the new Vertu price minus the distributor's subsidy and the trade-in value of the old device. This method helps customers easily visualize the actual cost of upgrading, rather than just focusing on the initial listed price.

A Vertu Vietnam representative noted that in the luxury phone segment, the "trade-in" should not be viewed as a discount.
