Pham Nhat Vuong's power company boosts capital to nearly 80,000 billion VND

VinEnergo, the energy company founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, has completed a capital increase from over 28,300 billion VND to 79,923 billion VND, surpassing Vingroup.

VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company announced this information in its business registration amendment on 15/5. Since its establishment over one year ago, the company founded by Pham Nhat Vuong has seen its charter capital surge from 2,000 billion VND to 79,923 billion VND, a nearly 40-fold increase. Cash contributions accounted for 44,6% of this capital, with the remainder sourced from other assets.

Compared to other listed enterprises, VinEnergo's capital is less than only a few banks, including Vietcombank, MB, and VPBank, but it exceeds all non-financial companies such as Vingroup, Hoa Phat, and BSR.

According to information published on its website, VinEnergo is currently undertaking 8 domestic power projects across 5 localities, representing an investment of approximately 287,000 billion VND. The combined capacity of these facilities totals nearly 7,500 MW, equivalent to 7,5 GW.

On 28/3, VinEnergo signed a cooperation agreement with the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee. This partnership aims to explore investment potential for a wind power plant complex in the province, with an estimated capital of 210,000 billion VND and a projected capacity of 3,000 MW.

VinEnergo also plans to develop 100 GW of renewable energy in international markets over the upcoming three years. The company targets regions such as North America, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and Southeast Asia for these projects. Furthermore, VinEnergo is exploring investment opportunities in Central Asia and Africa.

The company has already secured agreements to launch its initial international projects in Denmark, Sweden, and the Philippines, with a combined capacity of approximately 10 GW.

VinEnergo primarily operates in electricity production and electrical equipment manufacturing. At its establishment, Pham Nhat Vuong held 71% of the company's capital. The remaining shares were distributed between Vingroup and the two sons of Vietnam's wealthiest individual.

In November 2025, VinEnergo welcomed its first foreign shareholder, Dynamic Invest Group Limited. This entity acquired approximately 5% of the company's capital, a stake valued at over 1,400 billion VND.
