Vietjet's aircraft technical maintenance center complex in Long Thanh, with a total investment of USD 100 million (over 1,700 billion dong), spans 8,4 hectares and began construction on 19/8. The project includes two aircraft maintenance hangars, number 3 and number 4, designed, managed, and supervised by international corporations Mace (UK) and Apave (France).
After four months of construction, the facility reached its topping out milestone on schedule. According to the company, this phase marks an important step in enhancing domestic technical capabilities, reducing overseas maintenance costs, increasing fleet operational efficiency, and creating more jobs and economic value for the southern region.

The structure utilizes steel and features the erection of extra-large components, meeting global aviation technical standards. Upon completion, the complex will be able to accommodate and service six narrow-body aircraft and two wide-body aircraft simultaneously, or a maximum of 10 narrow-body aircraft.
Also on 19/12, Vietjet operated its first commercial flight to Long Thanh international airport. Flight VJ038, utilizing an Airbus A321neo aircraft, departed from Tan Son Nhat at 7h35 and landed at Long Thanh at 8h30.
The event on the morning of 19/12 marked the first civil aviation activity at Vietnam's largest airport. Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and leaders from various ministries and sectors attended the ceremony.
According to Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), core components of Long Thanh airport, such as runway number one, the taxiway system, aircraft parking apron, and internal port transportation routes, have been completed and are ready for synchronized operation.

Long Thanh international airport is a national key project covering a total area of 5,364 hectares. Phase one involves an investment of approximately USD 5 billion, while the total capital for the entire project is expected to reach USD 16 billion. Once finished, the airport will have a design capacity of 100 million passengers per year and aims to become one of the leading modern aviation hubs in the region.
Vietjet currently operates a new-generation fleet and is expanding its domestic and international network. The airline is an official member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and holds the IOSA Operational Safety Audit certificate. The company has received a 7-star rating – the highest in the world for aviation safety – from the reputable organization AirlineRatings, and is ranked among the top 50 best airlines globally for operations and financial health by AirFinance Journal.
