Vietnam's economic leaders showcase achievements at national exhibition

Leading enterprises like PVN, EVN, Vingroup, and others showcased their products and achievements, contributing to the country's economic development and affirming Vietnam's national standing.

Vingroup's robot models, designed by Vietnamese engineers, also attracted attention from exhibition visitors. These products were researched and manufactured by the group's subsidiaries, VinRobotics and VinMotion. The robots can move, interact, and converse naturally with people around them.

Hall 2 of the National Achievements Exhibition, themed "Economic Leaders," retraces the remarkable journey of both state-owned and private enterprises over 80 years of national development.

The photo shows the exhibit of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the country's largest enterprise with total consolidated assets of 43 billion USD and equity of approximately 23 billion USD.

Annually, PVN supplies about 9 to 11 billion cubic meters of gas, fueling 35% of the national electricity output, 70% of nitrogenous fertilizer production, and 70% to 80% of gas for domestic consumers nationwide. Since the extraction of the first barrel of crude oil in 1986, PVN has extracted over 460 million tons of domestic oil and approximately 200 billion cubic meters of gas, contributing significantly to national energy security.

Currently, PVN contributes an average of 9% to the GDP and 9% to 10% of the total state budget revenue.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN)'s exhibit highlights its key role in establishing the national power system, the energy lifeline of Vietnam's economy.

At the center of the booth is a model of the national power system, simulating the entire Vietnamese power grid as of 2025, with a total capacity exceeding 88,400 MW, ranking first in Southeast Asia and 22nd globally.

A highlight of the model is the three-circuit 500 kV North-South transmission line, which helps balance loads across the country. The Quang Trach - Pho Noi section of the 500 kV third circuit was constructed rapidly in six months and put into operation in 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the project as an unprecedented feat for Vietnam's power and construction sectors.

The model also showcases the presence of electricity across border regions and islands. Electricity has reached 11 special administrative units (formerly island districts), corresponding to 18 Vietnamese islands, with 14 islands directly powered by the national grid. Most recently, EVN completed the project to bring the national grid to Con Dao Island via a 103.7 km 110 kV undersea cable, the longest undersea cable in Southeast Asia.

Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group showcased 50 civilian and military technology products, including many belonging to national strategic technology groups such as new-generation telecommunications networks, semiconductor chips, robots, cybersecurity, and aerospace. These products were presented in the exhibition areas of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Construction, and the Hanoi People's Committee.

Viettel is also one of the few Vietnamese enterprises to consistently maintain billion-dollar profits over the past decade. Last year, the group recorded consolidated revenue of 190,000 billion VND and a record pre-tax profit of 51,000 billion VND (approximately 2 billion USD).

In a modern exhibition space, Vingroup presented inspiring stories about the rise of Vietnam's largest private economic group. The focus of the exhibit was technology and industry. The Lac Hong 900 LX luxury electric vehicle made its public debut here.

Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's group is also the investor of the National Exhibition Center, the venue for the 80th-anniversary National Achievements Exhibition, covering approximately 90 hectares with a total investment of over 7,000 billion VND. It is among the top 10 largest exhibition centers globally and the largest in Southeast Asia.

Hoa Phat retraced key milestones in its 33-year journey of development with the motto "Steel will, steadfastly with the nation." They are currently the number one steel enterprise in Southeast Asia and among the top 30 globally, with a designed steel capacity reaching 16 million tons per year by the end of 2025.

Billionaire Tran Dinh Long's enterprise showcased various products, including hot rolled coil (HRC) steel, prestressed steel cables, and high-quality steel types, especially rail steel and structural steel. In Vietnam, no other enterprise besides Hoa Phat produces these products.

The photo shows steel rail samples for high-speed rail, urban rail, and metro projects by Hoa Phat. Fulfilling its commitment to the government, the group has started the rail steel and special steel production plant project in Dung Quat this year.

The project will have its first products in 2027, supplying the North-South high-speed railway project, metro projects in provinces and cities, and other key national projects. Although these are specialized products, Hoa Phat's leadership is confident in their ability to produce and supply them for projects with the highest quality.

The exhibit of Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco), one of Vietnam's largest multi-sector businesses, was also featured. Starting with automobile manufacturing and assembly, Thaco has expanded into industry, logistics, agriculture, and infrastructure investment over the past 25 years. In Chu Lai (Quang Nam), Tran Ba Duong's enterprise has built a multi-thousand-hectare industrial-urban complex, the largest automobile production facility in the country.

In the infrastructure sector, the company has invested in internal transportation routes, ports, and logistics. Recently, they proposed investing over 61 billion USD in the North-South high-speed railway, committing to arranging 20% of the capital themselves and borrowing the remainder from domestic and international credit institutions.

FPT Corporation presented the AI Nation space, showcasing its comprehensive technology ecosystem contributing to shaping Vietnam's digital future. Visitors experienced firsthand technology products and solutions serving tens of millions of Vietnamese people, from work and education to daily life.

According to the rankings published by Gartner, a leading global information technology research and advisory company, with technology revenue of 1.4 billion USD in 2024, FPT climbed six places to enter the Asian top 40 for the first time. Globally, the group ranked 140th out of nearly 300 enterprises.

The booth of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), one of the leading technology enterprises, displayed key achievements such as the Vinasat satellite, the VSTN international cable connecting Vietnam to the region, in-flight internet services, and AI solutions supporting administrative procedures through smart kiosks.

VNPT is currently a national digital pillar. The enterprise has played a pioneering role in implementing key national technology projects such as the national document exchange platform, the public service portal, the national population database system, and the Government's Information, Direction, and Administration Center.

The exhibit of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) showcased the enterprise that began just as the country entered the post-liberation reconstruction period in 1976. After nearly 50 years, Vinamilk has become a national brand in the domestic market.

According to Bui Thi Huong, Vinamilk's Director of Human Resources, Administration, and External Relations, the company affirms its leading position through market leadership and innovative thinking, aiming to transcend Vietnam's borders and expand globally. Currently, the enterprise's products are present in 65 international markets.
