Last week, Essay Humanizer published a global list of universities with the most billionaire alumni. This ranking is based on a compilation of over 2,500 billionaire profiles released by Forbes in March.
The findings reveal that more than half of these individuals, approximately 1,400 billionaires, attended just 20 institutions globally. Universities in the US produced the largest share of these billionaires, accounting for nearly 40%, with China following at nearly 12%.
Of the top 20 universities, 12 are located in the US, securing the top 4 positions. Harvard University stands out as the only institution with over 100 billionaire alumni, nearly 50 more than the second-ranked university.
Asia is represented by two countries, China and India, contributing three and two universities respectively to the top 20. Zhejiang University leads in Asia, having produced 36 billionaires.
The list of the 20 universities that have educated the most billionaires is:

The report also indicates that US universities with the most billionaire alumni are often concentrated in specific regions, notably California. This state alone accounts for 22 institutions in the top 100, educating about 16% of all billionaires.
Regarding fields of study, a bachelor's degree in business and economics (including business administration, economics, and finance) is the most common among billionaires, representing more than one-third. Engineering, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines, is the second most popular field, accounting for over 13%. Natural sciences and humanities are the undergraduate specializations for approximately 6% of billionaires.
Additionally, for every 8 billionaires in the engineering sector, one also pursued business studies or holds a master of business administration degree.
