Lam Dong province, 10/6 – Nguyen Ngoc Quang, an 18-year-old student with a severe visual impairment, has received approval from the Quality Management Department, Ministry of Education and Training, to take the 2026 high school graduation exam under special arrangements. Although eligible for exam exemption and guided by the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training to apply for special graduation consideration, Quang expressed a strong desire to participate in the exam to earn scores for university admission.
To accommodate Quang, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training will organize a separate examination room at Nguyen Thai Binh High School in Duc Trong commune. This room will be staffed by two invigilators and one supervisor. Additionally, the examination board will assign one person, without expertise in the exam subjects, to assist Quang with writing essays or marking answers for multiple-choice questions.
The special examination room will also feature two audio and video recording devices to capture all of Quang's responses. These recordings will be submitted to the Grading Committee for cross-referencing and serve as a basis for scoring, in addition to his paper exam.
According to high school graduation exam regulations, separate examination arrangements are reserved for special cases, typically for students who sustain injuries close to the exam date, preventing them from writing independently. Such instances have been uncommon in previous years. This year's high school graduation exam in Lam Dong province will see over 41,100 candidates participating across 91 examination centers.
