The school announced the registration figures on the afternoon of 21/5. With nearly 1,200 more candidates this year, the average acceptance ratio has risen to one-in-eight, a significant increase from last year's one-in-six ratio. The school did not disclose specific registration numbers for individual subjects.
This year, specialized high schools in TP HCM have all seen an increase in applications, while admission quotas have remained largely unchanged. Pho thong Nang khieu High School faces the highest competition ratio, while the four other specialized high schools in TP HCM have ratios ranging from one-in-2.52 to one-in-7.13.
The Pho thong Nang khieu High School 10th-grade entrance exam is scheduled for 23/5 and 24/5, offering 595 available slots. To be considered for admission, candidates must take at least four subjects: mathematics, literature, English, and one specialized subject.
Students have the option to take up to two specialized subjects, provided the exam schedules do not overlap. Non-specialized subject exams consist of both essay and multiple-choice sections. For specialized subjects, the exams are entirely essay-based, with the exception of English.

Established in 1996, Pho thong Nang khieu High School is the only school in TP HCM that conducts its own independent entrance examination, separate from the 10th-grade exam administered by the Department of Education and Training.
Last year, the specialized mathematics class had the highest cutoff score at 33.75 points, with other specialized classes ranging from 24.4 to 33 points.
