The Thanh Hoa public 10th grade entrance exam concluded on June 5-6, with over 51,000 candidates participating. This year saw a notable increase of nearly 7,500 students compared to the previous year. Students took exams in math, literature, and English.

The math exam featured a combination of question types. It included eight multiple-choice questions, worth two points, and seven essay problems. The essay section covered practical applications, such as calculating borrowed money and determining the minimum land area for an ecosystem.

Candidates applying to Lam Son High School for the Gifted had an additional requirement. They sat for a specialized subject exam on the afternoon of June 6.
