On 4/6, leaders of Sao Vang Commune People's Committee announced the completion of an investigation into a complaint regarding the leak of the second semester English exam at Tho Lam Secondary School. Authorities confirmed that the English exam for class 8C was leaked before the test date on 5/5, a result of a contract teacher at the school violating professional procedures.

Specifically, prior to the exam period, the head of the Social Science department received exam questions for subjects within the department. These were then shared in a common group for content review before final approval and printing. A teacher in this group downloaded the exam to his computer on 2/5 and subsequently provided it to students at his family's private foreign language center for reference. Undetected by the school, this exam was used for the class 8C test on 5/5.

By mid-May, the school discovered the exam leak and promptly organized a retest for the affected class using a backup exam, subsequently canceling the original scores. The school's disciplinary council determined that the teacher had violated professional regulations and terminated his teaching contract. The head of the Social Science department was also relieved of his position and will not be considered for academic year commendations due to failing to uphold exam confidentiality, which created the vulnerability leading to the leak. Furthermore, two vice principals were instructed to review their performance and improve their management, inspection, and supervision practices.
