Over the past three years (2022-2024), the Foreign Trade University has typically admitted around 4,000 students across its three campuses, with approximately 30% of the quota based on high school graduation exam results.
Overall, admission scores have remained stable, generally 27 and above for the three-subject combinations. Any fluctuations have been within a 0.5 point range. In 2022, language programs used a 40-point scale (double weighting for the foreign language subject), but from 2023 reverted to a 30-point scale.
Economics programs have maintained the highest admission thresholds, requiring no less than 28 points for the A00 combination (math, physics, chemistry) for all three years. Chinese language also ranks among the programs with high entry requirements, exceeding 28 points for two years with the D01 combination (literature, math, English).
In 2024, FTU began admitting students to its new computer science program, with an admission score of 27.2.

This year, FTU is admitting 4,180 students across its Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quang Ninh campuses. The subject combinations for admissions remain the same as last year: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), D07 (math, chemistry, English), and D00 (literature, math, foreign language: English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Russian).
Three admission methods are used: academic transcripts, 2025 high school graduation exam results, and domestic and international competency certificates.
Tuition ranges from 25.5 to 85 million VND per year. The standard program has the lowest fee, from 25.5 to 27.5 million VND. The computer science and data in economics and business programs are subsidized by 30%, costing 31.5 million VND.
The advanced program in partnership with the University of Queensland has the highest tuition at 85 million VND, while career-oriented and international development programs range from 49 to 65 million VND.

In 2024, the admission scores based on the high school graduation exam ranged from 25.25 to 28.5, with the highest score belonging to the Chinese language program (specifically, the commercial Chinese major) under the D01 combination (math, literature, English).
