Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, HANU's vice president, made this prediction on 8/5. He noted that the 2025 high school graduation exam scores for the D01 combination (math, literature, and English) are lower than last year. This combination is used for admission to all of the university's programs.
However, the number of applications to HANU has nearly doubled this year, reaching around 23,700. Additionally, the Ministry of Education and Training mandates a unified scoring system and doesn't divide quotas between different admission methods. Dr. Dung believes these factors will minimize fluctuations in the 2025 admission scores.
"Our programs have consistently had high admission scores, so this year's scores are likely to vary by only 0.5 to 1.5 points compared to 2024," Dr. Dung predicted.
He anticipates high admission scores for programs like Korean, Chinese, English, and Japanese language, information technology, and marketing. Last year, these programs had admission scores between 33 and 35.8 out of 40, the highest at the university.
For other programs, candidates typically need an average of 7.5 points per subject on the high school graduation exam to be admitted.
HANU plans to admit 3,305 students in 2025 through three methods: direct admission and priority admission; combined admission according to university regulations; and admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores.
Tuition for the 2025 intake at HANU is expected to be between 0.78 and 1.7 million VND per credit, a 7.5% to 8.3% increase from last year. Students need to complete about 145 to 152 credits and fulfill other requirements to graduate.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training's schedule, universities will conduct virtual filtering from 17/8 to 20/8. University admission scores will be announced before 5 pm on 22/8/2025.
