This year, nearly 17,000 candidates in Hanoi are competing for over 2,000 spots across four specialized high schools: Ha Noi - Amsterdam, Chu Van An, Nguyen Hue, and Son Tay. Yesterday, all students completed the three common subjects: literature, math, and foreign language.
Today marks the specialized subject examinations. Students must take the exam corresponding to their chosen specialization, with the exception of information technology, which requires the math exam. The admission score is calculated from the total of four subjects, where the specialized subject is weighted double, contributing to a maximum score of 50.
The specialized math classes at these four schools attracted over 3,000 applicants, including both first and second preferences. The competition ratio for the specialized math class at Chu Van An specialized high school is notably the highest, exceeding 1/12. Other specialized math programs have competition ratios ranging from 1/3 to 1/9.
Exam scores and projected cut-off scores are expected to be announced between 19/6 and 22/6.
