HCMUTE sets admission floor scores between 15 and 21.85

Most undergraduate programs at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) have a minimum admission score of 15, which is the sum of three high school graduation exam subjects plus any bonus points.

On the afternoon of 25/7, HCMUTE announced its minimum admission requirements for various admission methods and its score conversion formula.

HCMUTE's score conversion formula and subject combination differences are available.

Based on high school graduation exam scores, integrated circuit design engineering has the highest floor score, ranging from 20.1 to 21.85 depending on the subject combination. English language education and technology education follow with a score of 19. Law accepts applications from 18 points and above, while other programs require 15 points.

Compared to last year, the floor score for many programs has decreased by two points, including accounting, e-commerce, data engineering, educational psychology, international business, and information technology.

For academic transcript-based applications, students must have an average score of three subjects across six semesters ranging from 15 to 23, depending on the program. For the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test, the minimum score accepted is 504-846/1,200.

Tuition fees for over 100 universities in 2025 - University benchmark score predictions

This year, HCMUTE plans to enroll nearly 7,400 students at its Ho Chi Minh City campus and nearly 500 at its Binh Phuoc campus. The four admission methods are: academic transcript evaluation; direct admission according to Ministry of Education and Training regulations and prioritized admission according to the university's plan; 2025 high school graduation exam scores; and Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test scores.

For academic transcript evaluations, students from 675 high schools will receive a bonus of 0.8 to 1 point. Additionally, students with foreign language certificates and national or provincial-level academic awards will receive an additional 0.5 to 1.2 points when applying through this method.

HCMUTE's tuition fees for the 2025 enrollment period are expected to be 32.5-62 million VND per year, an increase of over 12% compared to last year.

HCMUTE tuition fees for all programs are available.

Last year, HCMUTE enrolled over 6,000 students. The benchmark scores based on high school graduation exam results ranged from 20.5-27.5/30, with the highest being English language education.
