Ho Chi Minh City international school fees hit 1 billion VND annually

Most international schools in Ho Chi Minh City have increased tuition fees by 3-6%, with the British International School recording the highest at nearly 1 billion VND for grade 12, excluding lunch and transportation.

Ho Chi Minh City is home to nearly 30 schools offering British, American, and Australian curricula, commonly known as international schools. Upon completing grade 12, students must pass graduation exams to receive A-level, International Baccalaureate (IB) diplomas, or high school diplomas from certain Australian states.

Many of these institutions have announced tuition fees for the upcoming academic year, ranging from 155.8 million VND to almost 1 billion VND per year. This rate applies to parents who make a one-time payment, benefiting from a 3-6% discount compared to paying in two to four installments. These fees generally do not cover lunch, transportation, or admission charges, with the International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) being an exception.

Compared to last year, tuition fees at most schools have increased by 3-6%. However, Saigon North American International School (SNA) and Scotch AGS have maintained their previous rates.

The British International School (BIS) charges the highest tuition. Its pre-primary fees range from 246.5 to 521 million VND per year, progressively increasing to 759.6 million VND for grade 6 students, and peaking at 999.3 million VND for grade 12.

Fees at the International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) are comparable, ranging from 287.4 to 987.8 million VND. Two other schools, Saigon South International School (SSIS) and Australian International School (AIS), also have tuition fees exceeding 900 million VND for grade 12.
