Last year, before the merger, Ho Chi Minh City students' literature scores predominantly ranged from 5 to 7,5, with only two papers achieving 9,5 points. Approximately 15% of the exam papers scored below average.
Speaking to VnExpress on 30/5, Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated that this year's exam paper maintained an open-ended format. This approach, familiar to students for many years, requires them to think critically and apply learned knowledge to solve real-world problems. He added that the paper's difficulty was researched and adjusted to align with the first exam since the merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
This afternoon, candidates will take the foreign language exam (primarily English) for 90 minutes. On 2/6, they will sit for the mathematics exam, which lasts 120 minutes. Those applying for specialized classes will take an additional subject, lasting 150 minutes.
