Mr. Le Van Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Training, announced the plan on the morning of 26/12.
He explained that the Ministry of Education and Training requires admission combinations to include at least three subjects, with either mathematics or literature being mandatory, and common subjects across combinations must account for at least 50% of the weighting. Consequently, the university must adjust its methods to comply.
"However, the university will devise alternative combinations that still include history and geography to avoid affecting candidates' interests; specific details will be announced later," Mr. Hien stated.
For 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law will admit students using 15 combinations. Of these, the C00 combination is for law, while A00 applies to law, law administration, business administration, international business, finance - banking, and English language programs.

Last month, several universities in Hanoi, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Technology, Border Guard Academy, and Political Officer School, also announced the discontinuation of traditional combinations such as C00, A00, A01 (mathematics, physics, English), and B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology), citing similar reasons.
