Yesterday, over 2,000 candidates took three common subject exams: literature, mathematics, and English. This morning, candidates registered for a specialized class (literature, history, or geography) took the exam for that subject, lasting 150 minutes in essay format.

This year, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is recruiting 150 10th-grade students and received over 2,000 applications. The specialized history class has the highest competition ratio at 1:15, while the specialized literature and geography classes have ratios of 1:14 and 1:12 respectively.
Candidates must take four exams: literature, mathematics, English, and a specialized subject (literature, history, or geography). The admission score is based on these four subjects, with the specialized subject weighted by three, for a maximum of 60 points. Candidates must score at least two points in each common subject and at least six points in the specialized subject.
The benchmark score for 10th-grade admission to the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities in 2026 will be announced before 29/6.
