National economics university raises admission floor for all combinations

The National Economics University has set its admission floor for the high school graduation exam at 22 for all four xet tuyen (university entrance exam) combinations, a 2-point increase from last year and from the plan proposed earlier this year.

The university announced the information on the evening of 22/7. The four combinations subject to this floor are A00 (math, physics, chemistry); A01 (math, physics, English); D01 (math, literature, English), and D07 (math, chemistry, English).

Among the universities that have announced their admission floors, most have decreased their requirements compared to last year, typically by 1-2 points.

On the same day, the National Economics University also announced a table for converting scores between different admission methods. A perfect score on the high school graduation exam is equivalent to 128/150 on the High School Assessment (HSA) and 88.31 on the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA).

The details are as follows:

A few days ago, Dr. Le Anh Duc, head of the training management department at the National Economics University, predicted that the benchmark scores for admission to the university this year might decrease by 1-2 points, depending on the major and program.

However, he advised students not to rely too heavily on last year's benchmark scores when making their university choices. The reason is that this year, all universities must convert scores from different methods and combinations to a common scale. For example, in 2024, the entry score for a program might have been 26, based on the quota allocated to a specific combination, but this year it could be 25 after conversion.

Tuition fees for over 100 universities in 2025

This year, the National Economics University is admitting 8,200 full-time students across 73 majors and nearly 90 programs. The two new programs are labor relations and international commercial law.

The three admission methods are the same as last year. The first is direct admission, accounting for 3% of the quota, applied to students in one of the following groups: policy beneficiaries, those eligible for direct admission according to the Ministry of Education and Training's regulations; winners of third prize or higher in the national excellent student competition; and winners of first prize or higher in the national science and technology competition.

The second is based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with four combinations: A00, A01, D01, and D07.

The third is a combined admission method, for three groups of candidates.

Group 1 consists of students with international certificates: SAT scores of 1200/1600 or higher, or ACT scores of 26/36 or higher. These are two common standardized tests in the US.

Group 2 is for candidates with minimum scores of 85/150 on the HSA, 700/1200 on the APT, or 60/100 on the TSA. These students can apply for admission independently based on these scores, or in combination with international English certificates such as IELTS 5.5 or higher, or TOEFL iBT 46 or higher.

Group 3 consists of candidates with English certificates, whose scores are considered in combination with their high school graduation exam scores in math and one other subject. The certificate requirements are the same as for group 2.

The university will announce the score conversion formula between admission methods before 23/7.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, tuition fees at the National Economics University will be approximately 18-25 million VND for standard programs.
