Ninth-grade student stabs classmate, hospitalized for emergency care

A ninth-grade student from Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School in Thong Nhat ward stabbed a classmate, who was then hospitalized for emergency treatment.

On 5/12, leaders of Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School reported that the incident occurred at noon on 1/12. After morning classes, two ninth-grade students arranged to meet at a beverage shop on Ky Con street, in front of the school gate, to resolve a pre-existing conflict.

At the location, the two argued and then fought. During the altercation, one student pulled out a knife they were carrying and stabbed the other in the chest, causing injuries that required emergency hospitalization.

According to school leaders, the two students were neighbors and had been close friends. The school acknowledged that due to a momentary conflict and impulsive thoughts, both had made a reckless decision.

The school stated it would announce a disciplinary plan later.
