The 10th grade entrance examination in Da Nang took place from 23 to 25/5. Candidates sat for three core subjects: Vietnamese Literature, Mathematics (120 minutes each), and Foreign Language (60 minutes) over the first two days. On 25/5, students aspiring to enter Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted took additional specialized exams.
With 38,690 available slots in public high schools, the admission rate climbed to 88%. Beyond public schools, continuing education and vocational training centers offered an additional 1,215 places. This leaves approximately 3,700 students, or 9% of candidates, to pursue options such as private schools, vocational colleges, or other educational paths.
To ensure a secure examination period, Da Nang mobilized approximately 10,250 personnel across various stages of the exam. The city police also deployed over 900 officers and soldiers to assist.
According to Le Thi Bich Thuan, director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, all exam sites meticulously reviewed their facilities, medical equipment, and plans for electricity and water supply. Significant attention was given to traffic management around the exam venues to prevent congestion and ensure candidates arrived on time. Schools were instructed to thoroughly guide students through regulations, helping them alleviate anxiety and providing support for those with special circumstances.
In mountain areas, schools implemented special support measures. For example, Tra Nam Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Tra Linh commune arranged for car transportation, assigned three teachers to accompany students, and provided meals for 23 candidates attending an exam site 20 km away.
Similarly, 24 students from Tra Van Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School also received transportation and arrived at their exam site by noon on 22/5. The school also ensured half-board meals for these students.
