The year 2025 marked a strong proliferation of large-scale music and art programs linked to significant events, holidays, and milestones. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 80th National Day, nearly 20 concerts took place in Ha Noi and TP HCM, attracting a wide range of audiences.
Some prominent programs included the grand music festivals "To Quoc Trong Tim", "Viet Nam Trong Toi", "80 Nam Hanh Trinh Doc Lap - Tu Do - Hanh Phuc", "Toi Yeu To Quoc Toi", "Viet Nam Trong Toi", "V Fest - Thanh Xuan Ruc Ro", and "V Fest - Vietnam Today". Many of these shows drew tens of thousands of spectators, with the "To Quoc Trong Tim" concert alone attracting 50,000 attendees.
This series of programs was voted one of the 10 outstanding cultural, sports, and tourism events of the year. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated: "Through modern musical language, advanced projection technology, and sophisticated staging techniques, these programs recreated the flow of history, connecting the nation's heroic past with the present and aspirations for the future."

The explosion of national concerts is an unprecedented phenomenon in Vietnamese music. According to music researcher Nguyen Quang Long, political-artistic programs that honor patriotic and revolutionary music were often considered dry. However, thanks to the series of effects from the A50 and A80 anniversary activities, national concerts gradually became familiar. Queuing for tickets and wearing red flag with yellow star shirts to events became a new cultural aspect for young people. The image of tens of thousands of people singing the National Anthem and harmonizing revolutionary songs created a positive effect on social media.
According to singer Dang Duong, the appeal of these programs lies in the refreshed revolutionary music, imbued with a youthful spirit. When participating in the "To Quoc Trong Tim" concert, he was overwhelmed to see the audience singing along to "Dat Nuoc Tron Niem Vui" (composer Hoang Ha) and "Viet Tiep Cau Chuyen Hoa Binh" (composer Nguyen Van Chung).

Mr. Dang Le Minh Tri, director of the "To Quoc Trong Tim" concert, believes these programs powerfully ignite patriotism. Their success stems primarily from their emotionally evocative storytelling and professional, systematic organization across many stages.
"When melodies that have lived in the memories of many generations resonate in a large space, refreshed with contemporary harmonies, staging, lighting, and technology, the audience not only revisits the past but also experiences history in a unique way. This interplay allows individual emotions to expand into collective feelings, forming shared memories with widespread appeal, where each person feels connected to the community, to the past, and to the story of the nation," director Minh Tri said.

Mr. Pham Hoang Giang, director of the "Duoi Co Vinh Quang" concert, stated that the success of these concerts also owes to the attention and support from the State and cultural sector leaders, which provided a boost to art organization and appreciation.
Although most do not sell tickets, these concerts still generate economic value alongside their cultural and spiritual worth. "Organizers earn from advertising and sponsorships. Additionally, concerts drive the development of other industries in the ecosystem, such as food, tourism, and hospitality," Mr. Nguyen Quang Long said.
Music experts and directors anticipate this model will continue to grow and be promoted in the coming years. Associate Professor, Doctor Bui Hoai Son, a standing member of the National Assembly's Culture and Social Affairs Committee, believes that if professionally organized, these concerts will become a sustainable driving force for developing the cultural industry and the national image.
Director Pham Hoang Giang remarked that maintaining and professionalizing this model will lay the groundwork for Vietnam to potentially become a cultural and creative hub in the region by 2045, creating a significant economic leverage.
