Actor Tiet Cuong embraces fatherhood at 52

Actor Tiet Cuong, 52, describes the joys and challenges of first-time fatherhood, learning to care for his baby son.

Tiet Cuong's first child, nicknamed "Be Nghe" (Baby Calf), turned three months old in August. To celebrate, the actor created a social media page to share photos of his son. "Since becoming a father, my life has become more joyful and meaningful," Tiet Cuong said.

Tiet Cuong crafts a bamboo playpen for his son.

When his son was two months old, Tiet Cuong brought him to his house in Tay Ninh province for easier care. He often filmed overnight, returning home only in the morning. During those times, his wife managed everything at home, from childcare and feeding to laundry.

Due to his busy filming schedule, Tiet Cuong's wife and son are staying with her family in Kien Giang province. He visits them weekly. "I collect toys for my son and help my wife regain her strength and fitness after giving birth," he shared.

According to the actor, Be Nghe enjoys listening to music and going for walks. Tiet Cuong makes time to stroll with him near their home.

Tiet Cuong admits he was initially clumsy holding his newborn. After some practice, he became comfortable rocking and soothing his son to sleep. His mother-in-law taught him how to bathe and massage the baby.

"I had to learn everything about being a dad, even making formula. I was often scolded by my wife for making too much. Gradually, I overcame my initial awkwardness. Now, caring for my son is my greatest motivation. Seeing him melts away all the fatigue and stress from work," he added.

The artist and his 26-year-old wife, Ngoc Thuong, have taken their son to An Giang province to be closer to nature. Tiet Cuong says their relationship remains as strong as when they first started dating. "Women often experience stress after childbirth, so I try to cater to her wishes and show my care through small gestures," he explained.

Tiet Cuong began his career as a stage actor alongside Viet Huong, Thai Hoa, and Duc Thinh. He is known for his roles in television series like "Huong Nghiep," "Mui Ngo Gai," and "Vat Chung Mong Manh." He won the "Most Popular Comedian" award at the Gala Cuoi in 2003 and the "Best Supporting Actor" award at the HTV Awards. He ventured into business years ago but suffered losses and has since focused on acting.
