Rumors circulated on 21/8, suggesting Li Longji and 37-year-old Wong Ching Ha had separated, according to St Headline. Speculation arose because Li had previously promised to marry Wong upon her release from prison. However, nearly two months later, no marriage had occurred. Some suggested Wong was distancing herself from the actor and had no intention of marrying him.
Li dismissed the rumors, explaining they prefer a quiet life out of the public eye. He said Wong wants to be "forgotten," leading them to limit public appearances together. He added that she requested he not discuss their private life, a wish he respects.
Wong currently resides in mainland China with her parents, while Li lives in Hong Kong. He recently worked in Canada and the US without Wong. Despite the distance, the couple remains committed to their relationship and plans to marry. "I will marry her soon, and Ching Ha genuinely wants this too. We are determined to be together, and no one can stop our love," Li stated.

The couple began dating in 2018. Li has three children from a previous marriage. In 2/2024, Wong was arrested for violating Hong Kong's residency laws. Investigations revealed she used fake US university diplomas for priority immigration. In 6/2024, she was sentenced to 25 months imprisonment for seven offenses, including using false documents and providing false information to gain entry and overstaying her visa. She pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence. Due to mitigating circumstances, she was released on 7/7 after serving 18 months.
During Wong's imprisonment, Li visited her regularly, and they exchanged letters daily.
Li is a well-known figure in Hong Kong cinema, starring in productions like "The Return of the Condor Heroes" (1983) as Wang Chongyang, "Looking Back in Anger", "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer" (1996) as E'boong, "Journey to the West" (1996) as the Jade Emperor, "Miao Cuihua", "Justice Sung", "At the Threshold of an Era", "Heaven Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre" (2000) as Song Yuanqiao, "Beyond the Realm of Conscience 2", "Forensic Heroes IV" (2020), and "Barrack O'Karma 1968".
