On 9/9, L'Officiel U.S. magazine published an interview with Angelina Jolie, who graced the cover of its fall issue. The content largely revolved around her future plans after her two youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 and begin living independently. She also discussed the personalities and work of her other children.
Angelina Jolie has six children with her ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt, including three adopted children. "My children truly have distinct personalities. That makes me very proud because I think one of the most important things is not to hinder them," she stated. According to Jolie, parents often try to do many things for their children, but they should not interfere with their children's lives, as children have their own lives and potential for growth. Instead, she wants to always support them.

Most of Jolie's children work in the entertainment industry, but none are following their parents' acting careers. Her two eldest sons, Maddox, 25, and Pax Thien, 23, currently work as assistant directors, collaborating with their mother on several films such as Couture, Without Blood, and Maria.
Angelina Jolie believes that if someone is interested in the film industry, they need to become part of the crew, work hard, and learn about all departments of the team. This is how her two adopted sons ventured into the field. In addition to accompanying their mother to film sets, Maddox and Pax Thien also pursue other endeavors. According to Jolie, Maddox is currently focusing on becoming a pilot, while Pax is pursuing photography but still enjoys filmmaking.
Similar to her two older brothers, her youngest daughter Vivienne also works behind the scenes but in Broadway. At 16, she co-produced the play "The Outsiders" with her mother, which won the Best Musical Tony Award, one of four major performing arts awards in the U.S. Vivienne's twin brother, Knox, is currently a fighter, participating in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts events. Their biological older sister, Shiloh, 20, is a dancer, having performed as a backup dancer in Kpop singer Dayoung's music video "What's a girl to do" under the stage name Shi.
Angelina Jolie also has an adopted daughter of Ethiopian origin named Zahara, 21. She is reportedly interested in human rights issues, similar to her mother, and attends many social events. Zahara graduated with a degree in Psychology from Spelman College, a historically black college for women, in May, and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), an African American sorority founded in 1908. On L'Officiel, Angelina Jolie mentioned attending several meetings at the college with her daughter, feeling honored to be part of the institution.
Now that her children are old enough to be independent, Angelina Jolie believes it is time to live for herself. Since ending her marriage to Brad Pitt in 2016, she has limited her departures from Los Angeles due to ongoing legal issues related to the divorce. In previous interviews, the actress often stated she would move abroad when her children grew up because Hollywood "is not a healthy place". At that time, she considered moving to Cambodia, Maddox's homeland.
Speaking with L'Officiel this time, Jolie stated she has no long-term settlement plans and wants to spend more time abroad. The actress said she would return to Cambodia to directly manage the Maddox Foundation, a humanitarian organization named after her son, which she founded. Jolie also wants her family to have a fixed home to store her belongings and photos with her children. Additionally, Jolie will experience a nomadic lifestyle for a while. During that time, her home in Cambodia will serve as a base for a few months whenever she wishes to explore Khmer culture.
Regarding her sustainable fashion brand, Atelier Jolie, the actress hopes the brand will achieve global reach. Brazil may be the first country she chooses for a branch. Jolie's team is currently negotiating with partners in Vienna and Cambodia. In the future, she plans to visit various locations worldwide, meeting local artists and domestic workshops to find collaboration opportunities.
"I am not the type of person who enjoys vacations, shopping, or similar leisure activities. I envision myself engaging in more fieldwork, travel, and world exploration. I will get back on my moto and fly planes again," Angelina Jolie said about her upcoming life. According to the artist, this is what her children want her to enjoy.
Angelina Jolie, born in 1975, is a Hollywood A-list star. Throughout her career, the actress has won three Golden Globe Awards and one Academy Award. Although she and Brad Pitt finalized their divorce proceedings in late 2024, an ongoing lawsuit concerning their French estate shares remains. Most of their shared children have dropped their father's surname and publicly distanced themselves from the actor after their parents' tumultuous divorce. Before Brad Pitt, Jolie was previously married twice, to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, respectively.
