On 18/7, Spotify, the world's largest music, podcast, and video streaming platform, announced that "Jump" averaged 6.27 million listens per day. Throughout the week, the song reached 44.7 million streams, the highest of any release this year. This is the second time the group has "swept" the Spotify Global Daily chart for six consecutive days, following "Shut Down". As of the morning of 19/7, the hit has nearly 53 million plays.
Previously, the four YG Entertainment artists had two other songs top the global Spotify charts: "Pink Venom" (2022) and "Shut Down" (2022). The group also achieved a notable ninth appearance on the UK Official Singles Chart. According to the 18/7 results, "Jump" ranked 18th, entering the Top 40, their highest ranking to date.
On YouTube, the song became the most viewed video in the first 24 hours and topped the platform's global trending music video chart for seven consecutive days. The song currently has 77.6 million views and over 380,000 comments.
In addition, the song topped the iTunes charts in 61 countries and territories, including the US. On domestic Korean digital platforms like Melon, Genie, and FLO, Blackpink reached their highest positions ever, demonstrating long-term potential, according to Edaily.
Dave Meyers, who previously collaborated with Blackpink on music videos like "Kill This Love" and "How You Like That", directed "Jump". The song blends hardstyle EDM with a modern urban style and superhero elements. The visuals mix cityscapes with CGI effects, neon lights, strong contrasting colors, and slow-motion scenes.
The video portrays the Blackpink members as powerful figures appearing on billboards and buses, directly entering the public's consciousness. This metaphorically represents the group's influence on pop culture and their presence in fans' minds.
Each frame embodies the spirit of "jumping" beyond limits and prejudices, as the song title suggests. Each member has a distinct concept: Jennie breaking through walls, Rose running across rooftops, Lisa controlling high-speed vehicles, and Jisoo acting as an inspiration through electromagnetic waves. Their Y2K and military-inspired outfits include crop tops, leather jackets, high boots, belts, and high-fashion sportswear, creating a "cool girl futuristic" look.
MidnightRebels, a hardstyle DJ, considers "Jump" a "powerful breakthrough" with an impactful bassline that could be a foundation for a future Blackpink EDM album. KBopped rated the song 8.5/10, praising the balance between "old style and new direction" but noting a lack of climax at the end. K-pop Reviewed described the beat as "fun and uplifting" with European EDM inspiration, despite repetitive and short lyrics.
Similarly, SeoulBeats praised the music video's visual appeal due to its fast editing and strong imagery, but noted imperfections in the CGI. Pitchfork highlighted the song's iconic nature and cinematic quality, especially the group's synchronized energy, even without a clear storyline. Meanwhile, Reddit (r/kpop) likened the music video to a "short action movie trailer".
Blackpink first performed "Jump" at the opening concert of their Born Pink World Tour in Goyang, South Korea, receiving positive feedback from 40,000 fans. The members hope "Jump" will be a "summer highlight" and a "morale booster" for their international performances. Between now and 25/1/2026, they will perform in 16 cities including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Milan, London, Bangkok, Singapore, Tokyo, concluding in Kai Tak (Hong Kong).
