Following her "Peacock" dance drama performance on the evening of 7/3 at Ho Guom Theater, Hanoi, artist Yang Liping met with the crew backstage. Designer Duc Hung was present to take her measurements. "After our conversation, I decided to use red silk to design a loose-fitting Ao Dai, with a fitted top and a flared bottom", the designer said.
Duc Hung stated he is rushing to complete the outfit to present it to the artist before she departs Vietnam on 9/3.

According to Duc Hung, at nearly 70 years old, artist Yang Liping maintains a flexible, "peacock-like" style and is open and warm in conversation. "I am happy that my design was chosen as a gift for a renowned artist, and I hope the image of the Ao Dai becomes more widely known and loved by international friends", the fashion designer said.
Artist Yang Liping, born in 1958 in Yunnan, China, gained international acclaim for her peacock dance. QQ considers her the most accomplished artist in Chinese ethnic dance. With over half a century of dedication, Yang Liping has become an icon of Eastern choreography, performing thousands of shows in over 50 countries and territories, helping elevate Chinese dance to a global level. In the past 10 years, she has performed less, focusing on behind-the-scenes work, teaching, and training new generations.
The "Peacock" dance drama, which premiered in 2012, quickly became a classic stage production synonymous with Yang Liping. With "Soul of the Peacock" and other works, many audiences are astonished by her choreography and admire her stamina and grace. Besides dance, Yang Liping also acted in films, with a notable role as Mei Chaofeng in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes 2003".
