Dong Nhi returns to the music scene after giving birth to her second child with the album Theater Of Dreams. She and Ong Cao Thang also recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. The singer spoke about married life and her career inspiration.
Dong Nhi feels fulfilled with her thoughtful husband and two well-behaved daughters. She said meeting and marrying Ong Cao Thang was destiny and considers herself extremely lucky. For many years, her husband has been her support system, manager, and advisor in every step of her career.
According to Dong Nhi, the secret to maintaining a marriage is to love and treat each other like they did at the beginning. Their two children have also helped her and Ong Cao Thang change positively and become more mature. Dong Nhi has also learned from her parents how to nurture their family.
Dong Nhi said she no longer feels pressured by career challenges. She accepts change and learns from Generation Z. "In the current market, if I'm not open, I will surely be left behind," she said.
The 35-year-old singer, whose real name is Mai Hong Ngoc, has found success with songs like Khoc, Ngot ngao, Cho em mot lan yeu, Pink Girl, and Vi ai vi anh. In 12/2018, Dong Nhi held a 10-year anniversary concert at Quan khu 7 Stadium in TP HCM. Throughout her career, she has been honored with awards such as Cong Hien, Mai Vang, Best Asian Artist at MAMA 2015, and Best Southeast Asian Act at EMA 2016.
She and Ong Cao Thang married in Phu Quoc in 2019 after 10 years together. They welcomed their first daughter in 10/2020 and their second in 8/2024.
