Filming locations of 'Hen em ngay nhat thuc' spark public interest

Beautiful scenes from Lang Song church in Gia Lai and Lang Lo beach in Dak Lak are gaining attention from audiences following the success of the film "Hen em ngay nhat thuc".

The film grossed over 60 billion dong after 10 days of release, with many related keywords trending in searches. On TikTok, several videos showcasing the film's settings have garnered hundreds of thousands of views, drawing visitors to the locations.

One of the filming locations for "Hen em ngay nhat thuc" is Lang Song Minor Seminary in Tuy Phuoc commune, Gia Lai. It evokes a peaceful atmosphere at the film's beginning, where nuns are shown performing their duties in service of God.

The structure features Gothic architecture, a design style from the latter half of the Middle Ages in Western Europe, built by the French in the mid-19th century. Doan Thien An, who plays An, the female lead, shared that before filming, she lived there for a short period to immerse herself in the role. Every day, from four in the morning, she would wake up with the nuns to pray, read scriptures, garden, and care for children.

Quy Hoa Leprosy Village in Quy Nhon, Gia Lai, was chosen for scenes depicting the nuns providing free medical examinations to local residents.

Director Le Thien Vien, a former photographer, stated that the effort put into each frame was not to showcase technical skill, but to ensure that lighting and color became a storytelling language in the film.

Hoc Gao Parish Church in Dak Lak is where the characters An and Thien exchange their first promises.

This location also features scenes of An celebrating Christmas alone after Thien moves to Hanh Tri for work to build his career, leading to a long-distance relationship for the couple.

Lang Lo, a beachside village in Hoa Hiep ward, Dak Lak, serves as the setting for Thien's life after he moves to Hanh Tri. In the film, these scenes feature warm tones with rows of red-tiled houses.

This segment shows Thien working extra shifts on weekends, carrying goods, and saving money with the hope of opening a tailor shop for An in the future.

The hills of Bac Ai area in Khanh Hoa are where the 1995 total solar eclipse scene takes place, a pivotal moment in the film. The crew meticulously handled art direction and set design, featuring vintage cars and old signs from the 1990s.

Hoc Ram in Tay Hoa, Dak Lak, is depicted with radiant golden rice fields and a bus traveling back and forth.

The scene where the two characters part ways at a crossroads was also filmed in the land of yellow flowers and green grass.

The film revolves around the story of its main character, Thien An, a Catholic girl living in the peaceful village of Tra May in the late 1980s. One day, she encounters Thien, a young electrician from another place, and they gradually develop feelings for each other.

Their romance unfolds in secret because Ba Hoa, An's mother (artist Le Khanh), opposes her daughter dating a non-Catholic. Deep down, she has already chosen the perfect son-in-law, doctor Hai (Thanh Son), who has a stable career and is close to the family. The conflict escalates when An is forced to choose between filial piety and personal happiness.
