Ho Chiu Yan - the MIT-graduate daughter of the 'casino king'

Ho Chiu Yan, 27, is the youngest daughter of Ho Hung San (1921-2020) and his fourth wife, Angela Leong. Media outlets refer to Ho Hung San as the "Macau casino king" for building a vast business empire in Macau. He had 17 children with four wives; Ho Chiu Yan was born when he was 78 years old.

Her mother, Angela Leong, possessed a net worth of 2,3 billion USD, according to Forbes statistics in 2025. From Chiu Yan's childhood, Leong taught her how to invest and manage finances.

Many consider her the most academically accomplished of Ho Hung San's children. In 2021, Chiu Yan enrolled in a master's program at Tsinghua University, China. After graduating, she remained at the university for research and teaching. Currently, Ho Chiu Yan's focus is climate change, and she frequently appears at United Nations events concerning sustainable development and environmental protection.
