Los Angeles police found James Handy unconscious in the front yard of his California home at 9:30 on 3/6 local time, according to Guardian. He had a stab wound to the chest, allegedly inflicted by Michael Gledhill, 44, his girlfriend's son.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported Handy to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, People reported. Gledhill has been arrested and identified as a suspect. His bail is set at 2 million USD.

The Los Angeles Police Department stated they received a 911 call reporting the incident. The caller said, "I am a human being, I just killed the guilty one." When authorities arrived, Gledhill identified himself as "the person they were looking for."
"The suspect lived at the residence with his mother, the victim's girlfriend," police noted.
Born in New York in 1945, James Handy began his acting career in 1977. Over nearly 50 years, he played supporting roles in many blockbuster films and television shows, including "Jumanji" (1995), "Arachnophobia" (1990), "Unbreakable" (2000), "NCIS: Los Angeles," and "Criminal Minds." His last screen appearance was in the 2022 film "Top Gun: Maverick," starring alongside Tom Cruise.
