Meritorious artist Quang Thang and actress Thu Quynh were among those who praised the "Land of epic melodies" program for bringing Vietnamese history closer to all generations. Their comments followed the show's premiere on 10/7 at Vinpearl Theatre Ocean City in Hung Yen.
The 75-minute performance, divided into six chapters, chronicles 4,000 years of Vietnamese history. It draws inspiration from legendary tales of Lac Long Quan and Au Co, the era of the Hung Vuong kings establishing the nation, the glorious Bach Dang victory, the periods of national resistance, and the image of a peaceful Vietnam today.
The stage ingeniously combines multiple cutting-edge performance technologies. These include a multi-layered hydraulic stage featuring real water, expansive Panorama LED screens and matrix LEDs, laser etching integrated with mapping technology, visual holograms, and an aerial performance system utilizing ziplines and large-scale props like cannons.
Quang Thang described "Land of epic melodies" as a must-see show. He noted its successful blend of historical value, artistic expression, and advanced technology, delivering a deeply emotional experience for the audience.
Watching the performance as an audience member, he was captivated by how the show depicted the nation's journey of establishment and defense. The production served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by past generations for today's peace, thereby fostering a greater appreciation for the present and inspiring a desire to contribute to the country.
The actor commended the program's seamless integration of technology with performing arts. As a seasoned theater professional, he attributed the show's success to the rigorous training and dedication of the production team.
"Seeing my colleagues perform so brilliantly, I genuinely wish I could experience being on this stage and contribute a performance for the audience", Quang Thang said.

According to Thu Quynh, each viewer will discover a unique emotional connection. Veterans, for instance, can revisit parts of their memories and national pride. Younger audiences have the opportunity to engage with history through familiar stories like Lac Long Quan, Au Co, or the Hung kings, before exploring the nation's broader historical milestones.
"Vietnamese people must know Vietnamese history; 'our people must know our history'. Regardless of age, audiences here can rediscover historical events they already know and uncover stories they have never encountered before", she stated.
Earlier, during an afternoon panel discussion on 3/7 at Vinpearl Theatre Ocean City, following an early screening of "Land of epic melodies", Doctor Le Quoc Vinh commended the program's pacing and emotional impact. From the perspective of the cultural industry, he suggested that the product should evolve into a long-term intellectual property value chain, rather than remaining a standalone show.
"I hope Vinpearl can transform 'Land of epic melodies' into a commercialized intellectual property", he said.

He explained that nations today compete on many fronts, with the ability to win the affection of the international public becoming increasingly crucial.
"Today, nations conquer the world not just through economic or military strength, but by attracting affection. Art, culture, and by extension, the cultural industry, are the ultimate weapons", he emphasized.
This perspective aligns with Vingroup's vision for "Land of epic melodies". Ngo Thi Huong, General Director of Vinpearl Joint Stock Company, stated that culture and art are not only a heritage to preserve but also a "soft power", contributing significantly to national growth.
"When a nation can tell its story in a language the world understands, that is not just the success of a single work or business, but can contribute to the success of the entire nation", she remarked.
Journalist Diem Quynh, Deputy Head of the Arts Department at Vietnam Television, offered another perspective. She arrived at the early screening with "a completely blank mind", imagining herself as a foreign tourist who had just explored Hanoi's old quarter before entering the theater. She was impressed by the architectural scale of the venue. She particularly praised the team's ability to encapsulate legendary history, national defense battles, and the cultural identity of various ethnic groups within one production.
"If I had friends visiting Vietnam, I would recommend them to see this program", she said, expressing her wish for "Land of epic melodies" to have many more seasons to further explore the stage's potential.

From a professional standpoint, director Hoang Cong Cuong stated that the most striking image for him after the performance was the national flag at the curtain call, symbolizing the national pride the show aims to evoke. Throughout the production, the theater utilized advanced performance technologies, including a cable system that allows actors to fly, programmable LED screens, hydraulic lifts, and laser effects, all capable of meeting international stage standards.
However, he also affirmed that what truly matters more than technology is the unique identity derived from cultural elements, music, and costumes that are distinctively Vietnamese.

Nguyen Van Hai, Business Block Director of Vinpearl, explained that the project originated from a concern about the lack of iconic nighttime cultural and artistic experiences in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, with a vision to create comprehensive experiences, Vinpearl will continue investing in art and cultural products, alongside its accommodation and entertainment systems.
"Land of epic melodies" was developed with the goal of becoming a show that tells Vietnam's story in a modern language, capable of resonating with both Vietnamese people and international visitors. In the coming period, the company will continue to invest in enhancing product quality and the audience experience.
The show is designed as an immersive theater experience, combining music, choreography, and modern technology. It features over 100 artists and performers, utilizing 12 modern stage effects and eight prominent grand scenes, offering a multi-sensory experience in the northern region's largest theater, spanning nearly 26,000 square meters.
The program runs from 19h30, thursday to sunday weekly, starting from 10/7. Currently, ticket prices range from 400,000 VND to 1.2 million VND for adults, and 200,000-600,000 VND for children, depending on the seating category.
