Following Liu Xiaoking's exoneration, questions arose about the accuser's potential liability. Liu Xiaoking previously stated on Sina that Mr. Wang's actions were a "false accusation" intended to harm her.
On 8/8, the actress posted the tax bureau's findings on her social media, emphasizing her compliance with the law. She has not yet commented on whether she will sue Mr. Wang.
The star was previously involved in a tax evasion scandal in 2002. She was found to have evaded and underpaid a total of 20 million CNY (about 72 billion VND) in taxes, violating business laws. The actress served 422 days in prison, and her sister and brother-in-law were also imprisoned.
19 of Liu Xiaoking's properties were publicly auctioned. After her release in 2005, the artist rebuilt her career, taking on supporting and minor roles. Thanks to her talent and previous fame, she made a successful return to the entertainment industry.
