Military officer charms alongside Miss Vietnam top 3

Lieutenant Phung The Van, the "charming officer", joins a fashion project with Miss Truc Linh, first runner-up Chau Anh, and second runner-up Van Nhi.

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, designer Dung Nguyen launched the "Love Ao Dai, Love Vietnam" project. He invited the top 3 of Miss Vietnam 2024, Captain Pham Dieu (right), and Lieutenant Phung The Van (left) to participate in the opening photoshoot. The presence of the two officers conveys a message of gratitude and strong patriotism among the younger generation.

Miss Ha Truc Linh wears a pale yellow silk Ao Dai with a red scarf adorned with flowers.

Lieutenant Phung The Van poses with first runner-up Chau Anh. With his handsome looks and 1.85m height, he caused a sensation during the military parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (30/4), earning him the nickname "charming officer." On 3/8, he participated in a special forces demonstration on Hoan Kiem Lake.

26-year-old Phung The Van, from Bac Kan, currently serves in the 600th Regiment of the Guard Command, Ministry of Public Security. He appeared on the TV program "We Are Soldiers" in 2020. The lieutenant is admired by many for his warm voice and dignified demeanor.

The white Ao Dai she wears is one of the designs named "National Day," using bright colors to express elegance.

The Van expressed his joy in joining Dung Nguyen's project. "I accepted because I believe the project is deeply meaningful, contributing to honoring traditional cultural values and evoking patriotism and national pride. The image of the Ao Dai is associated with the message of love for the country. I want to contribute to preserving and promoting the beauty of Vietnam," he said.

The lieutenant admitted to feeling nervous about his first photoshoot for a project, and excited to meet and chat with the beauty queens.

Second runner-up Van Nhi (left) and first runner-up Chau Anh wear monochrome brocade Ao Dais with black silk pants, a style often chosen by Vietnamese women in the past.

The "Love Ao Dai, Love Vietnam" project was born when Dung Nguyen observed the bustling streets, vibrant parades, and people of all ages wearing clothes and accessories featuring the national flag and map of Vietnam.

The collection follows a traditional style, featuring the red and yellow star emblem, embroidery, and stones forming the shape of Vietnam. The designer also incorporates free-flying bird motifs.

The designs utilize silk and raw silk for breathability.

In addition to the Miss Vietnam top 3, Dung Nguyen invited various figures to participate, including actors Lan Huong and Do Ky, Quynh Nga, Thu Quynh, singer Duong Hoang Yen, and more. Each individual represents different professions, ages, and genders, bringing positive values to life.

Designer Dung Nguyen, born in 1987, lives and works in Hanoi. He founded his Ao Dai brand in 2015, focusing on traditional hand-embroidery with a highly practical design. His creations have been chosen by many celebrities, including Miss Ky Duyen, actress Midu, People's Artist Lan Huong, actress Phan Minh Huyen, singer Ngoc Anh, and model Phuong Mai. Besides designing, he is also a makeup artist.
