Miu Le charms audiences on 'Em xinh say hi'

Miu Le, 34, captivated viewers on the singing competition "Em xinh say hi" with her youthful energy and comedic interactions.

Miu Le is a contestant on the reality TV show featuring 30 female vocalists. After six episodes, she ranks among the top three contestants with the highest individual votes, trailing behind singers 52Hz and Orange. This high ranking secured her the role of team captain for Live Stage 3.

The singer joined the show to reinvent herself, gain more hits, and connect with Gen Z colleagues. In the past two years, she has been less active in showbiz, occasionally livestreaming to interact with fans.

The audience loves her humorous and engaging conversations and her ability to create content during interactions with other contestants. Her witty remarks on the show and posts on her personal fan page have become popular discussion topics on social media.

Miu Le's bright and beautiful face attracted many directors. In 2013, she participated in two film projects: "Yeu anh! em dam khong?" (starring Dan Truong and Tran Thanh) and "Nha co nam nang tien."

In 2015, Miu Le left a lasting impression as the "20-year-old grandmother" in "Em la ba noi cua anh" (directed by Phan Gia Nhat Linh). At 24, she portrayed both characters: an old woman and a young girl. Her hunched back, facial expressions, and voice convinced the audience. This was the second Vietnamese film to gross over 100 billion VND, following "De mai tinh 2" (2014).

Before joining the competition, she had a nearly 15-year music career with popular songs like: "Yeu mot nguoi co le", "Gia nhu co ay chua xuat hien", and "Con thuong thi khong de em khoc".

In 2022, Miu Le made a musical breakthrough with "Vi me anh bat chia tay", a blend of pop and R&B. The MV attracted nearly two million views in over 10 hours after its release, reaching the top 3 trending music videos on YouTube, and receiving positive feedback from music lovers. Currently, the song has over 100 million views.

Miu Le (real name Le Anh Nhat) gained recognition through "Nhung thien than ao trang," director Le Hoang's debut film, released in 2009. In 2011, she transitioned to singing and released the album "Cong chua mat nai."

The actress sang Trinh Cong Son's "Con tuoi nao cho em" while portraying the character's tumultuous life in the film "Em la ba noi cua anh."

Trinh Cong Son's family was also impressed with Miu Le's acting and singing after watching the film. The late musician's sister, Trinh Vinh Trinh, said: "Miu Le sings Trinh's music in the true style of Trinh Cong Son and Khanh Ly of the old days, which our family cherishes."

The 9x singer didn't have much opportunity to showcase her diverse acting skills in this project. However, the film became a box office hit.

Not every project Miu Le participated in was a commercial success. In late 2023, "Chiem doat," an 18+ film starring Miu Le, had an opening weekend gross of over six billion VND, lower than many other Vietnamese films released that year.

The singer said that after "Em xinh say hi," she will focus on releasing new music and has no plans for films.
