Phuong My Chi and teammates sing about overcoming self-doubt

Phuong My Chi and her "Em xinh say hi" teammates performed "I'll Be There", a song inspired by their personal struggles with self-confidence.

The song "I'll Be There", performed by Orange (team leader), Phuong My Chi, Lamoon, and Han Sara, was featured in the seventh episode of the show, which aired on the evening of 12/7.

The lyrics were inspired by Phuong My Chi's early experiences on The Voice Kids stage, where she felt insecure about her appearance. "When I was younger, I didn't think I was beautiful because of my full lips and sometimes chubby figure. There were times I thought no one would love me because I was different. But now, I have a healthy body, a voice, and the will to strive, and that's enough to make me happy," she said. Han Sara also faced negative comments and loneliness as a Korean girl pursuing a career in Vietnam. Orange has struggled with the pressure to succeed, always wanting to win to please others.

MC Tran Thanh and the studio audience were moved by the performance. He commented, "No effort is ever wasted. All the hurt, the stumbles, the scorn are just a necessary part of becoming the best version of ourselves today."

Orange explained that after receiving the theme from the organizers, she and her team asked musician Hoa Xuan Duc to write additional lyrics for the song. They created a demo and then agreed on the final arrangement and mixing.

The other three performances included: Phuong Ly's team (Vu Thao My, Chau Bui, Muoii) singing "So dam" in a house music style. Tien Tien's team (Bao Anh, Saabirose, Anh sang AZA) performing "Em khong co ua". Miu Le's team (Bich Phuong, Juky San, and Quynh Anh Shyn) presenting "Loi that long khi say". The judges did not announce individual scores in this episode; they will be added to the next round.

The show "Em xinh say hi" aims to "find the next generation of female idols in Vietnamese music". The contestants are divided into teams, competing directly through group performances. Music director JustaTee (nickname Jessica Thanh Tu) and a team of over 20 producers and musicians are responsible for the new compositions for the contestants. The show is produced by the same company that successfully organized "Anh trai say hi" in mid-2024.
