Phuong Vy and her 10-year-old daughter performed a wedding dress collection by designer Nguyen Minh Tuan at Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 on the evening of 22/8 in Ho Chi Minh City. During the finale, as Phuong Vy was greeting the audience, her husband, American businessman Sean Trace, who was sitting nearby, approached, knelt, and presented a diamond ring to his wife. His unexpected gesture brought the singer to tears. Their daughter, standing by her side, cheered, while beauty queens, runners-up, models, and the audience applauded in congratulation.

Phuong Vy shared that she and her husband married many years ago without a formal proposal. Their relationship was built on trust and empathy. Whenever she saw friends or relatives receive a proposal, she would often tease her husband about not having experienced the same. Receiving his gift, she expressed being overwhelmed with happiness.
The event team revealed that upon learning his wife was participating in the wedding dress show, the businessman contacted the designer to propose his idea. Initially, Sean Trace wanted to show a video documenting their journey together, but finding it unsuitable, he chose a more streamlined approach. All preparations were kept secret to surprise Phuong Vy. "I wanted to give my wife a meaningful ring, something I hadn't had the chance to do before," Sean Trace said.
