Thai "dream prince" Push Puttichai's thousand-square-meter garden

Push Puttichai, nicknamed Thailand's "dream prince", and his wife cultivate fruits and vegetables in their thousand-square-meter garden in Bangkok.

In mid-July, Push (full name Push Puttichai) and his wife, MC and actress Jooy (Warattaya Nilkuha), shared photos on social media enjoying time with their two children at their garden in Bang Khen district, north of Bangkok, Thailand. The celebrity couple said the retreat is less than a five-minute drive from their main home. For the past month, they've invited family, colleagues, and close friends for weekend camping and meals whenever their schedules allow.

They named the garden PJJP Family Cottage, with PJ-JP representing the initials of their two children. Push Puttichai explained that he comes from a poor family in Ratchaburi province and grew up working in the fields, developing a love for farming and raising fish. In high school, he dreamed of earning enough money to build a new home for his parents so they could enjoy their retirement without enduring leaky roofs and scorching heat.

In 2022, the couple built a villa for Push's parents on their family's dry land in Ratchaburi. According to Sanook, the actor said at the time he would work hard and save money to build an English-Australian countryside-style garden home in Bangkok, occasionally hosting his parents and in-laws.

Construction began in early 2024, and by July, approximately 80% of the main space was complete. The remaining 20% is a separate farm for growing vegetables and raising fish.

"I've long cherished the dream of a rural-style garden in the heart of Bangkok, serving three purposes: a retreat for my parents and in-laws, a place for my children to run and play, immersed in nature, and a venue for intimate gatherings with friends, colleagues, or even for outdoor activities like wedding photography, commercial shoots, and small events," the actor shared on his personal YouTube channel.

The couple's flower-filled garden.

Positioning Magazine estimates the garden spans over 2,500 m2, designed by Duke Bhanudej, a former actor and now a renowned architect in Bangkok, trusted by many Thai artists for home renovations and planning. The living space is about 300 m2, with one ground floor, a mezzanine, and six bedrooms. The playground, relaxation area, and front and back lawns cover approximately 1,000 m2.

Push's family chose a rustic architectural style, both cozy and nature-friendly. The cottage-style brick walls blend seamlessly with the greenery, creating a nostalgic and eye-catching look.

The front garden is filled with shrubs, foliage, spices, and herbs. There are also large trees imported from Australia, such as grevillea, combined with feng shui plants, including a 100-year-old chumsaeng. The landscaping alone cost around two million THB (nearly 1.4 billion VND).

The interior of the functional spaces (living room, bedrooms, mini office) features a light brown, cream, and pale yellow wood theme, creating a sense of peace and tranquility. Push said he and his wife spent months selecting materials, researching designs and colors, and then custom-ordering each item to match their English countryside vision.

They aimed for an open-plan layout to enhance connectivity. Most of the paintings on the walls are gifts from friends.

Push and Jooy are one of the Thai entertainment industry's "reel-to-real" couples. They met on the set of Ao mong (Illusion) and faced fan opposition when they went public with their relationship. Fans felt Jooy was less attractive, older, and not a suitable match for Push. Ignoring the criticism, Push repeatedly affirmed that Jooy was his happiness. They married in 2018 and have two children, a boy and a girl.

Beside the house and main garden is the entrance to the 1,500 m2 farm area. In a video on his personal page, Push said he hasn't fully planned it yet, currently growing only a few vegetables and crops like chili peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, herbs, gourds, squash, string beans, corn, papaya, and rose apples.

The actor invited friends to harvest the first batch of corn. He plans to build a greenhouse for orchids, a strawberry trellis system, and cultivate various seasonal fruit trees. He has also hired someone to dig a fishpond and raise chickens and pigs, aiming for self-sufficiency with fresh food. Previously, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple gained attention for growing plants on their balcony, often sharing the excess with neighbors.

Push, 39, is a DJ, actor, MC, and model with a large fan base. Standing at 1.85 m tall, he is known for films like Ao mong (Illusion), Chang ve si va nang sieu sao (The Bodyguard and the Superstar), Co vit xau xi (Ugly Betty), Chiec la cuon bay (The Leaf Blown Away), Sam Sam den roi (Boss & Me), Mua he cua ho ly (The Fox's Summer), Rung hoa ruc lua (The Flame of Our Love), and Ky tich tinh yeu (Love Beyond Frontier). Since the film Chang hoang tu trong mo (Prince of Dreams), he has been called the "dream prince" by Thai entertainment news and fans.

Jooy, three years older than her husband, has been in the entertainment industry for 20 years and is a sought-after actress and MC.
