In recent years, the actor gained attention for shifting to producing video content about rural cuisine in Tay Ninh (formerly Long An). He often introduced viewers to recipes for rustic, easy-to-cook dishes, attracting millions of views on TikTok and other video platforms.

On 16/7, the actor's manager announced that he had suffered a stroke over a week prior, but fortunately received prompt medical attention. After being discharged from the hospital, he has been cared for at his home in TP HCM by his assistant and relatives. The actor is undergoing physiotherapy to recover some bodily functions, and all his work has been postponed. Huynh Anh Tuan has welcomed many acquaintances from the film industry to his home, such as actress Khanh Huyen, who co-starred with him in the film "A Mother's Dream."

The actor says he enjoys immersing himself in a farmer's life to experience the tranquility of the countryside. He has spent years cultivating the land at his maternal grandparents' home, sowing seeds, and buying flowers and ornamental plants to add color to the garden. Having farmed as a child, manual labor isn't too strenuous for him. "I like going back to my hometown because I can exercise, and it makes me healthier," the actor said.

Occasionally, he travels around the country, learning more about cooking regional specialties, like Hue-style sweet soup.

Huynh Anh Tuan visited a durian orchard in Can Tho (formerly Hau Giang) in early April. He is loved by audiences on social media for his warm voice and hearty western-style laugh while hosting his food and travel videos.

The actor describes his life in recent years as "summed up in two words: peaceful." He doesn't mind comments about "men pottering around the kitchen," as he finds joy in cooking, inhaling the scent of burning straw, and eating homegrown vegetables and fruits.

The actor hasn't retired, but now selects scripts that suit his age and health. His most recent film appearance was in late 2024, playing the villain in the action movie "Domino: The Last Resort." He rose to fame in the 1990s thanks to his handsome face and romantic style. He gained recognition through films like "Em and Michael," "Turbulent Sea," "Stranger Land," "Children of the City," "Alluvial Fragrance," "The Playboy of Bac Lieu," and "Female Special Agent." The actor frequently paired with Viet Trinh, Diem Huong, and Y Phung, forming beloved on-screen couples.
