French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife are on an official visit to Spain on 29-30/9. According to Bunte, the state dinner on the evening of 29/9 at the Royal Palace of Madrid highlighted a distinct fashion contrast between queen Letizia's ceremonial splendor and Brigitte Macron's minimalist, modern style.
The spanish queen chose an ice-blue Carolina Herrera gown. The design featured a cape silhouette, floor-length drape, a sheer neckline, and embroidered floral details on the bust. She wore a diamond floral tiara and silver heels.

According to Elespanol, the tiara dates back to the 19th century, commissioned during the reign of king Alfonso XII and became part of the royal collection in the 1960s. The spanish government presented it to queen Sofia on the occasion of her marriage in 1962.
Bunte described queen Letizia as elegant. Several spanish newspapers compared her to queen Elsa from the animated film Frozen, noting her radiant appearance and the sparkling effect on her gown, reminiscent of a fairy tale.
Brigitte Macron wore a white Louis Vuitton column gown, gently fitted, with silver sequin panels on the sleeves and sides. She carried a sparkling clutch, wore silver high heels, styled her hair in a neat bun, and opted for classic makeup. Bunte dubbed her the "sparkling snow queen".
In terms of ceremonial grandeur and visual impact, queen Letizia's appearance stood out, blending haute couture, royal history, and a fairy-tale aesthetic. The french first lady was praised for her consistent, refined personal style, which is elegant without being ostentatious. She exercised restraint by not wearing large jewelry, choosing a recognizable white dress that aligned with the minimalist image she has cultivated for years.
Earlier, at the official welcome ceremony at the Royal Palace, the public also noted their styles. queen Letizia re-wore a Pertegaz design in pearl gray blended with light blue, featuring rose and coral motifs. Brigitte Macron wore a monochromatic dusty pink ensemble: a midi skirt, a long coat, and nude shoes. ABC noted that both chose soft colors, creating harmony between the hosts and guests.
During this visit, king Felipe VI presented president Emmanuel Macron with the order of Isabella the Catholic – one of the nation's highest honors, reserved for a select few individuals, symbolizing the deep friendship between the two countries.
