FIFA announced the participants for the tournament's closing event on 15/7. Details of the Mission Impossible actor's performance remain under wraps. Cruise previously attended the US national team's opening match. In 2024, he performed a jump from 46 meters at the Olympic closing ceremony in France.
Joining Cruise on stage will be Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, and IShowSpeed. Jennifer Hudson is slated to perform a version of the US national anthem before the final match. FIFA is expected to announce additional artists and guests in the coming days.
"Continuing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to Canada, Mexico, and the US, the closing ceremony will conclude the FIFA World Cup 2026 journey with music, culture, and football," stated Heimo Schirgi, FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Executive Officer.

FIFA had previously announced Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, and BTS as performers for the final's halftime show. Chris Martin, a member of Coldplay, is staging the show to raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This fund aims to raise 100 million USD to expand global access to education and football for children. It currently holds over 50 million USD, with one USD contributed from each World Cup ticket. The program, initially slated for approximately 11 minutes, may now extend up to 30 minutes.
This World Cup has been vibrant since its inception, featuring three grand opening ceremonies across the co-hosting nations: the US, Mexico, and Canada. A lineup of renowned artists, including Katy Perry and Lisa (Blackpink), ignited the opening events. The tournament has already determined its semifinal matchups: France versus Spain, and England versus Argentina. Spain defeated France to secure the first spot in the final.
