Tran Thanh's upcoming 2026 Tet film, "Tho Oi" (Oh Rabbit), has unveiled its star-studded cast, featuring singer Lyly, actors Dinh Ngoc Diep, BB Tran, MC Gil Le, and Cris Phan. The film, a psychological drama, centers around a talk show where celebrities discuss marriage and love based on personal experiences.
The director, Tran Thanh, chose a primary red and black color scheme for the film, aiming to evoke a mysterious atmosphere. The producer stated the story, a psychological drama, is Tran Thanh's forte, bringing a youthful and dynamic vibe with its Gen Z cast. Tran Thanh developed the script for a year and began filming in mid-August.
The teaser reveals a dramatic climax where a girl wearing a rabbit mask joins the show, sharing her story of being threatened and psychologically manipulated by her boyfriend, played by Tran Thanh, yet unable to escape the relationship. Several singers and rappers, including Phao and Ali Hoang Duong, appear in supporting roles as talk show coordination staff. Tran Thanh also invited singer Van Mai Huong to join the film, but her character's appearance has not yet been announced.

Tran Thanh, full name Huynh Tran Thanh, is a 38-year-old actor, MC, and filmmaker. In 2021, he gained recognition with his debut feature film "Bo Gia", winning numerous domestic awards such as the Golden Lotus and Golden Kite. In 2023, he released "Nha Ba Nu", his first self-directed work, which achieved the highest domestic box office revenue at the time. In early 2024, his film "Mai" became the highest-grossing Vietnamese film with 520 billion VND, until "Mua Do" (directed by Dang Thai Huyen) broke the record. During Tet At Ty, "Bo Tu Bao Thu" grossed over 300 billion VND, making it one of the highest-earning Vietnamese films of the year.
The 2026 Tet box office race is gradually heating up as three producers confirmed films for release during this period. Besides "Tho Oi", "Mui Pho" is one of the mysteries, marking the first collaboration between artist Xuan Hinh and actor Thu Trang. "Bau Vat Troi Cho" (directed by Le Thanh Son) stars Tuan Tran and Phuong Anh Dao - the "on-screen lovers" from "Mai" - and revolves around a single mother in a central Vietnamese fishing village.
